In 2020, Grey Daze — Chester Bennington's Phoenix, Arizona–based, pre–Linkin Park band — released their 11-track album, Amends, featuring reworked and re-recorded music with re-mastered vocals from the group's long out-of-print catalog. Next month, they're returning with another LP called The Phoenix that finalizes their pledge to the late singer to properly document the band's early recordings — and it features contributions from Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction), Richard Patrick (Filter) and Bennington's daughters, Lily and Lila Bennington.
Last month, we heard Bennington scream on its fiery lead single "Saturation (Strange Love)," and today we get to hear the late vocalist croon like Soundgarden's Chris Cornell on a soaring new single called "Starting to Fly." Listen above via YouTube while you watch its entrancing video.
"'Starting to Fly' is a new Rock Anthem that is about finding yourself and your true potential," said drummer and songwriter Sean Dowdell. "It is realizing that you can make the world yours. It's a song about hope. How High Can We Go?"
The Phoenix is due out June 17th via Loma Vista and it's now available for pre-order in a variety of formats. Our Revolver-exclusive colored vinyl variant already sold out, but you can pick up a copy of the album on "grey smoke" colored wax over at our shop.
