In 2020, Grey DazeChester Bennington's Phoenix, Arizona–based, pre–Linkin Park band — released their 11-track album, Amends, featuring reworked and re-recorded music with re-mastered vocals from the group's long out-of-print catalog. Now, they're returning with another LP called The Phoenix that finalizes their pledge to the late singer to properly document the band's early recordings. This one features contributions from Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction), Richard Patrick (Filter) and Bennington's daughters, Lily and Lila Bennington. Today, you can hear its fiery lead single, "Saturation (Strange Love)," that sounds in-line with how drummer and songwriter Sean Dowdell describes the record's tone overall: heavier.

"Amends was more emotional and reflective," Dowdell commented. "We felt sad when we were writing it. Now that we're a couple of years removed, it's very clear what we were going through. We were at a different stage of grief. We went through the shock and the sadness. Now, we're back to gratitude. So, The Phoenix is more of a celebration of our friend, his talent, and the music. It captures Chester's angst and energy that people fell in love with. It's much more aggressive. If you love Chester's scream, you'll love this record."

As for this song itself, Dowdell said that he thinks the velocity of Bennington's vocal delivery is going to surprise a lot of people who are particularly drawn to his earlier, scream-heavy work.

"One of the things that people love about him was his unique ability to scream in key … and this song brings you back to everything you love about that scream. You feel that angst and raw emotion he brought to everything he did."

The Phoenix is due out June 17th via Loma Vista and it's now available for pre-order in a variety of formats. One of those is a Revolver-exclusive vinyl variant on "blue smoke" colored wax that's limited to just 400 copies worldwide. Order yours now and peep the cover art and tracklisting below.
