Hear Children of Bodom's Catchy, Ripping New Song "Under Grass and Clover"

Finnish metal band’s new single from upcoming 'Hexed' LP arrives with shredding performance video

Children of Bodom are kicking off their new album cycle for forthcoming full-length Hexed with an exciting, infectious jam titled "Under Grass and Clover." The track is a chugging, symphonic toe-tapper complete with acerbic, growling vocals and racing dueling guitar harmonies and solos. An exercise in how to make metal fun, the band have concocted a groovy, dynamic anthem that clocks in at just three and a half minutes but feels like the prologue to an epic journey.

Frontman Alexi Laiho said proudly of the song, "'Under Grass and Clover' is the sound of COB on fire and has been my favorite song since it was written. It's fast, melodic, heavy and dark but also short and sweet. Someone told me that it's kinda like old school Dimmu Borgir and AWK and that's pretty damn cool in my books so we must've done something right."

The accompanying clip shows the dimly lit band performing with vigor, shredding through the cantering licks with the passion of a band still at the top of their game. Pop-driven hooks may propel the song, but the weathered, menacing look of the Finnish masters is still firmly intact, giving a gritty sheen to an otherwise polished video. Exciting shots of the precision-focused musicianship will please the musician-type nerds who flock to CoB's fan base, and new listeners can appreciate the shiny, cinematic production value.

Hexed will be out March 8th on Nuclear Blast, with pre-orders available here
