One of the strongest attributes a band can have is the ability to convincingly shape-shift from style to style. Code Orange are experts in moving between industrial-laced nu-metal ("Forever") and clean-tone melodic hard rock ("Bleeding in the Blur") with ease, while remaining as competent in one as they are with the other.

The Pittsburgh-based band's newest single, "Only One Way" — which arrives via the Adult Swim Singles Series — reveals the crew straddling both of those styles. The song — their first since releasing 2017's Grammy-nominated album Forever — was recorded with producer Will Yip and features guitarist Reba Meyers stepping into the vocal position for a hard-charging riff-fest set to stomp out non-believers.

"We wanted to write a song that felt like something structurally sound and melodic, being chewed up and spit out by a machine; our machine," commented Code Orange in a statement released about the new track. "We plan to release material on a more regular basis in an attempt to break down rock and metal's formulaic pattern of long breaks between outputs. This means we must work twice as hard, so we will. The hurt will go on. The end will never come ..."

Don't miss the remainder of the Adult Swim compilation, featuring Wolves in the Throne Room, Super Unison, Venetian Snares, Zeal & Ardor. Moor Mother, Brian Eno with Kevin Shields and so much more. More details can be found at the Adult Swim site.
