Hear Coheed and Cambria's Infectious New Pop-Rock Anthem "Old Flames"

Adventurous 'The Unheavenly Creatures' song tips its hat to 1950s with danceable backbeat, bebop chorus

As announced back in June, conceptual pop-prog outfit Coheed and Cambria are nearing the release date of their latest follow-up in the career-defining Amory Wars narrative series, Vaxis – Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures. The latest single to drop from the forthcoming science-fiction epic, "Old Flames," is out now and harkens back to a Fifties song structure with irresistible dance beats, a harmonized singsong chorus, and sugary sweet lyrics about personal growth in the face of true love. The song comes just a week before the band will partner with the massive New York Comic Con to perform an intimate show for NYCC ticket-holders and a lucky selection of fans at the Times Square Hard Rock Cafe to celebrate the new record.

Pre-orders for the album's box set, including an 88-page graphic novel written by singer Claudio Sanchez and his wife, Chondra Echert, are nearly sold out but still available for now at this location via the group's new label Roadrunner. Ever a band invested in the immersive fan experience,

Coheed's Unheavenly Creatures box set will include an exclusive bonus album, The Crown Heights Demos, showcasing the album's songs in their original form, a wearable hard-plastic mask of the novel's main character, and a three-panel fold-out poster of the cover art. Catch the band on their current tour of Canda, the United Kingdom, and the U.S. on one of these dates
