Hear Cruel Hand's Reverent Cover of Life of Agony's "Weeds"

Hardcore stalwarts put their spin on the 1997 alt-rock classic

Last year, hardcore veterans Cruel Hand toured Europe with Knocked Loose and dropped their first new song in three years, the pummeling "Never Be Whole." 2020 should see the release of even more new tunes from the Portland, Maine–based band, who are currently at work on their fifth album overall and the follow-up to 2016's Your World Won't Listen. In addition to making original music, the band also tapped into one of their major influences, Life of Agony, during the sessions for the forthcoming LP, cranking out a heartfelt rendition of the NYC group's soulful alt-rock classic "Weeds," off 1997's Soul Searching Sun.

Singer Chris Linkovich says of the cover, "We went in the studio to demo new music for Static Era Records and instead left with this gem. Misuse of label funds? Maybe. Great song? Definitely. Don't sleep on later-era Life of Agony!"
