Hear DAVE LOMBARDO shred on Empire State Bastard's new grindcore ripper "Harvest"

First song from former Slayer drummer's new band with Biffy Clyro members

Dave Lombardo somehow found time for another band. The former Slayer drummer is currently playing in Testament, Mr. Bungle, Misfits, Dead Cross and rolling out his very first solo album, but apparently that schedule wasn't busy enough for him. Last week, Lombardo announced that he'd joined a new grindcore band called Empire State Bastard that's helmed by two members of Scottish alt-rockers Biffy Clyro, Simon Neil and Mike Vennart.

Today, you can hear their ripping first single, "Harvest," in all of its glory. It's fast, chaotic, noisy and, yes, pretty damn heavy! Check it out above via YouTube.

Rounded out by live bassist Naomi Macleod, Empire State Bastard are signed to Roadrunner Records, and while they're not unveiling any details yet, a PR release mentions that "Harvest" is part of a larger collection of songs that the band have waiting in the wings. Whether that's an EP or an album, we don't know, but they're set to play their first three sold-out shows over in the U.K. later this week, and then a few European festivals later this summer.

Keep your eyes peeled for new Empire State Bastard news.
