Hear Dead Cross' Thrashing New Song "Heart Reformer"

Another heater from Mike Patton, Dave Lombardo, Justin Pearson and Michael Crain

Last month, Dead Cross — the hardcore supergroup comprised of Mike PattonDave Lombardo, Justin Pearson and Michael Crain — announced their sophomore album, II, which will mark their first full-length in five years. Lead single, "Reign of Error," was a complete hardcore punk ripper that stayed true to the frenzied formula they nailed on their 2017 debut, and today (August 24th), they've dropped another taste of the record called "Heart Reformer" that pushes their sound in some slightly different directions.

It's still a thrashing, convulsing hardcore song at its core, but there are some slightly more atmospheric, haunting bridges where the band draw back the full-frontal assault and add some extra layers of melody and emotion into their approach. Naturally, these experts pull it off brilliantly. Check out "Heart Reformer" above via YouTube along with its wild music video.

"'Heart Reformer' was as much fun to write as it is to listen to," Crain said of the song. "It's a classic Dead Cross song. It's a pit stirrer and a fist pumper!"

II is due out October 28th release via Ipecac Recordings and you can pre-order it here.
