Los Angeles dreamy pop goths VOWWS have brought on their friend and the ethereal force behind King Woman and Miserable, Kristina Esfandiari, to create "Burn II," a re-imagining of the song "Burn" from their latest full-length, this year's Under the World. Keeping it a true creative endeavor among friends, the art for the project was created by Jesse Draxler, who has worked with such like-minded clients as Deafheaven, Chelsea Wolfe, Zola Jesus and the Black Queen.

"Burn II" retains the basic structure and melancholic melody of the original, but unfolds with a fresh pained beauty care of Esfandiari. Her voice is a malleable instrument that takes the shape of each project she touches, and this single provides the freedom to strip away the usual distortion around her singing and focus on her raw talent. Hot off the success of King Woman's 2017 release Created in the Image of Suffering, Esfandiari also has a new Miserable album, due out October 26th.

For their part, VOWWS were recently handpicked by the Deftones to play the band's inaugural Dia De Los Deftones festival in November. Future, Mike Shinoda, Vein and others are set to join the expansive, genre-spanning lineup, as well.

Stream the track above and listen to the VOWWS' Under the World in full on Bandcamp. The single is available for streaming and purchase via Anti-Language Records on all platforms today.
