Hear Deftones Singer Chino Moreno's Churning, Heavy New Solo Song "Brief Exchange"

Stand-alone cut inspired by DC Comics' new graphic novel 'Dark Days: The Road to Metal'

Deftones frontman Chino Moreno has shared a moody, dynamic new solo song, "Brief Exchange." Inspired by DC Comics' graphic novel Dark Days: The Road To Metal, the track finds the singer teaming with Eminem and 21 Pilots board producer Mike Elizondo, recent Marilyn Manson collaborator Tyler Bates and ex-Dillinger Escape Plan drummer Gil Sharone. The end result lands somewhere between Moreno's atmospheric solo project ††† (Crosses), and the crushing alt-metal we've come to expect from the Deftones.

"Brief Exchange" marks the second in a run of tracks inspired by Dark Days: The Road to Metal, arriving in the wake of last month's "Red Death," the first-ever solo track from Mastodon drummer/vocalist Brann Dailor.

Below, see Chino Moreno talk about his enduring passion for music and the Deftones' creative process:
