With classic heavy-metal influences that range from Angel Witch to Pentagram to early Judas Priest to spots in between, Demon Head sounds like a band in a time capsule. While that may seem like a diss to some, the Copenhagen band's sound is decidedly throwback without aping its influences — coming off like a long lost private press sibling to those influences.

Their new LP Hellfire Ocean Void is a new eight track effort that utilizes the vocal efforts of Ferreira Larson to lean into their Pentagram-isms, all while exploring instrumentation with synthesizers, xylophone and more. It's an ambitious project that works well, taking chances in the right ways and succeeding more often than not and living in much the same stylistic and interesting world as Uncle Acid, Lucifer and others.
