Revolver has teamed with Demon Hunter for an exclusive "dystopian fog" colored vinyl variant of their new album Exile — limited to 500 copies. Order yours from our shop!
Christian metalcore vets Demon Hunter are back with a new album called Exile, their first LP of brand new material since 2019's Peace, and the follow-up to last year's Songs of Death and Resurrection, a collection of acoustic renditions of older songs. This one's due out later this fall, and today the band have shared an insanely chuggy lead single called "Freedom is Dead" to preview the album's sound.
It's a very modern-sounding metalcore banger that has an interesting tick-like rhythmic pulse, creating a minimalist yet still highly punishing groove that frontman Ryan Clark rages over. During the chorus, the pace picks up to a muscular hardcore strut and the whole thing ends before a single clean vocal has a chance to materialize. It's heavy shit, and you can hear it above via YouTube while watching its accompanying video.
Exile is due out September 9th and is now available for pre-order in a variety of formats. Revolver has an exclusive 2LP vinyl variant on "dystopian fog" colored wax that's limited to 500 copies worldwide. Get yours from our shop.
