Hear Demons, Featuring Mae Guitarist, Unleash Furious New Song "Slow Burn"

Zach Gehring: "We're stir-crazy and frustrated, just like everyone else"

It's been a rough road as of late for Demons, the Virginia Beach-based aggro rock group featuring Zach Gehring, guitarist of the cult-fave indie-emo group Mae. "We were derailed last year when our drummer almost died in a bike accident, and now the world is on hold dealing with the coronavirus," Gehring explains. But none of this has stopped them from getting out new music — to the contrary, recent events have spurred them on. To that end, today (May 14th), the quartet has teamed with Revolver to unleash the furious standalone cut "Slow Burn" along with its raging, colorful music video. Watch and listen above.

"We've had this song and video done for a while now," Gehring comments. "No one really knows what's going on or how long we'll have to stay inside, so we decided to let this one loose."

While the band plan to drop a new full-length, Privation, "Slow Burn" is an exclusive, quarantine-time release. The song will appear on the upcoming LP — but not this version. According to Gehring, the band just had to get the song out there now — "we're stir crazy and frustrated, just like everyone else," he says.
