Singer-songwriter and sludge crew announce surprise 'The Helm of Sorrow' EP

Hot on the heels of their full-length collaboration, October's May Our Chambers Be Full, sludge experimentalists Thou and singer-songwriter Emma Ruth Rundle have surprise-announced a companion EP, The Helm of Sorrow, which includes several B-sides from the project. Today (December 10th), they've offered up one of those cuts, a bulldozing and beguiling cover of the Cranberries song "Hollywood," along with a short video, Elysian Fields, by Thou's Mitch Wells. Watch and listen above and below.

The four songs that comprise The Helm of Sorrow were included in the diehard edition of May Our Chambers Be Full. They will be available as a standalone EP on January 15th in addition to digital retailers via Sacred Bones as part of the label's Alliance Series of collaborative releases, which includes recent works from Uniform and The Body, and Marissa Nadler and Stephen Brodsky.
