Hear Evanescence's Soaring Cover of the Beatles' "Across the Universe"

Amy Lee and Co. offer powerful rendition of Lennon-McCartney ballad

Real Evanescence heads know that Amy Lee and Co. have an affinity for The Beatles'  "Across the Universe." The rock powerhouse covered the Fab Four's Let it Be staple dozens of times throughout their 2018 tour, and fans who got their hands on disc two of the Bitter Truth limited box set — which featured 10 live studio session songs, including a take on Portishead's "Glory Box" — were treated to a studio recording of the band honoring the Lennon-McCartney classic. Now, the whole world can hear it.

Today (December 17th), the band have officially uploaded their version of "Across the World" to all streaming services, and whether you care for Evanescence's own music or not, it's an exceptionally well-done performance. While many people know Lee for her explosive singing on hits like "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal," she can also croon her heart out over a tender piano line, as she does here with ease. It's a great reinvention, and you can listen above via YouTube.
