In the mood for a blistering new thrash cut, or perhaps some fresh death metal? Better yet, how about both? You're in luck: Sonoran death dealers Gatecreeper and Virginia crossover thrashers Iron Reagan have unleashed a ripper apiece from their upcoming collaborative album, out March 2nd via Relapse.
Bearing the respective, oh-so-cheery titles "Dead Inside" and "Warning," the tracks — which first premiered on Sirius XM Liquid Metal last week — reflect their creators' stylistic individuality, as well as their shared commitment to chaos. The end result in a one-two punch to the eardrums that's bound to leave a mark well beyond the split's March 2nd release date. Hear Gatecreeper's "Dead Inside" above, and blast "Warning" below.
Gatecreeper and Iron Reagan's eight-song pile-up is up for pre-order now at this location. In addition to the aforementioned "Warning" and "Dead Inside," the record, mixed by Converge's Kurt Ballou, features the previously released "Paper Shredder" (by Iron Reagan) and "War Has Begun" (by Gatecreeper).
In related news, Gatecreeper and Iron Reagan have a slew of shows lined up over the coming months. The former will play two shows with labelmates Mammoth Grinder (whose ranks include Iron Reagan drummer Ryan Parrish — another crossover!) this week in Arizona, followed by a pair of tour dates in the Pacific Northwest; the latter, meanwhile, are plotting an April 14th hometown show in their native Richmond, Virginia.
