Hear Former Megadeth Bassist David Ellefson Team With Insane Clown Posse's Violent J on New Song

Ellefson's band the Lucid drop unlikely collab "Saddle Up and Ride"

The Lucid — the hard-rock band helmed by former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson — have released "Saddle Up and Ride," the lead single and title track off their upcoming EP. The thrashy, country-fried cut features a somewhat surprising collaborator: Insane Clown Posse's Violent J. The ICP co-frontman also appears on another EP track, "Sweet Toof."

"We are thrilled to join forces with an iconic artist like Violent J," The Lucid's guitarist, Drew Fortier, commented. "He added such a kickass and dangerous element to 'Saddle Up and Ride' and 'Sweet Toof'. J has without a doubt taken the Lucid to another level."

In addition to Fortier and Ellefson, the Lucid also include vocalist Vinnie Dombroski (Sponge) and drummer Mike Heller (Raven, Fear Factory). Their Saddle Up and Ride EP — the follow-up to the group's 2021 self-titled full-length debut — is due out on January 27th.
