Hear At the Gates' Blistering New Track "A Stare Bound in Stone"

Swedish band's latest death-metal scorcher from 'To Drink From the Night Itself' comes paired with stylized performance clip

At the Gates are gearing up to release their seventh album, To Drink From the Night Itself, later this spring via Century Media Records. After revealing the record's title track earlier this month, the Swedes have dropped "A Stare Bound in Stone," another scorcher set to appear on the upcoming LP. The chugging track arrives alongside a bold new performance visual directed by Costin Chioreanu, which finds the band performing silhouetted against a blood-red backdrop.

"For the second single release of the album we wanted this menacing stormer, [with] fast aggressive verses, [a] heavy chorus and an evil mantra of an ending," frontman Tomas Lindberg says of the blistering single. "This, for me, depicts the desperate, urgent mood of the record. I think it could be one of the most aggressive songs we have ever written. This album is so diverse, and includes so much different elements, that it is hard to boil down those essences to just one song. This song has a lot of them though — more to come soon."

In related news, At the Gates recently unveiled a short behind-the-scenes short detailing the creation of their last music video, "To Drink From the Night Itself." Check that clip out below.
