Hear Ghost Get Groovy on Poppy, Fun New Song "Kiss the Go-Goat"

Swedish occultists to "reissue" first-ever release, "Seven Inches of Satanic Panic"

If recent interviews are to be believed, Tobias Forge and his subversive art project/rock band Ghost are still a good way off from releasing the full-length follow-up to 2018's Grammy-nominated Prequelle. To keep fans who can't get enough of the soap operatic storyline interested and satisfied in the interim, the band have released a fun new single titled "Kiss the Go-Goat."

Echoing the title's retro Satanic vibes, the track is an upbeat pop song the explores Forge's favorite theme: Lucifer, and the joy of giving yourself over to him. For those who are still playing the "metal or not" game with Ghost, look away: This is a sugary bop that plays with the cultish bad-boy frontman theme, equally ready for the arena or the vinyl-night dance floor.

As for the song's video, it throw back to the summer of 1969, when an up-and-coming band called Ghost, fronted by Papa Nihil, played its first date at The Whiskey A Go-Go on Hollywood's Sunset Strip. As the story goes, the show was to celebrate Ghost's first release on Galaxy Recordings, "Seven Inches of Satanic Panic," the double-A-side 7-inch single featuring "Kiss the Go-Goat" and "Mary on a Cross." This original Ghost lineup eventually disbanded and the single, its original tapes, and the band's only promo and live performance of "Kiss the Go-Goat" ever filmed, were lost ... that is until recently when the songs and the Super 8 footage were discovered and resurrected by Papa Nihil.

The limited-edition "reissue" of Ghost's "Seven Inches of Satanic Panic: 'Kiss the Go-Goat' and 'Mary on a Cross'" will be available on September 27th. Look for that and more, including the collector's dream Prequelle Exalted vinyl-and-book box set, on the band' webstore
