Hear Ghost's Tobias Forge Croon on Me and That Man's New Song "Under the Spell"

Occult-rock icon uses Mary Goore alias on Nergal's dark and stormy single

Later this week, Me and That Man — the outlaw country/blues project of Behemoth bandleader Adam Nergal Darski — will release their latest batch of retro-rock songs, New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol. 2. However, not without one last taste that comes with an extra special surprise.

Today (November 17th), the group have shared a single called "Under the Spell" that features a strangely familiar singer credited as Mary Goore who happens to sound a helluva lot like Ghost mastermind Tobias Forge. (Mary Goore, it turns out, is one of Forge's many recurring aliases.)

Compared to September's gospel duet with Myrkur, "Under the Spell" is much more of a dusky post-punk song that's a little rawer and looser than Me and That Man's usual breed of bluesy rockabilly. Forge — erm, Goore — adds some nice vocal contrast to Nergal's stately croon, making the tune land somewhere between a slightly less bombastic Ghost cut and an Eighties darkwave staple.

"It's rockabilly on steroids," Darski commented. "I love the song. It's a part of Me and That Man that we hadn't yet explored in this form."

New Man, New Songs, Same Shit Vol. 2 is out November 19th via Napalm Records and is now available for pre-order.
