Hear Greg Puciato's Moody New Solo Song "Never Wanted That"

Second single off upcoming 'Mirrorcell' album

Greg Puciato recently wrapped an extensive North American tour with Jerry Cantrell, but don't think for a second that he's taking a breather. Known for his hyperkinetic performances in his former band the Dillinger Escape Plan, the prolific musician is prepping his sophomore solo album, Mirrorcell, which is due out July 1st via his own label Federal Prisoner, and today (May 13th), he offered up its second single, "Never Wanted That" along with its accompanying video. The song comes in the wake of lead cut, "Lowered," a gorgeous, shoegazing duet with Code Orange's Reba Meyers, and follows in its moody, Nineties alt-rock vibe. Watch and listen above.

"This vid was a nice exercise in making do with what you have available to you, or the creative benefits of limitation," Puciato commented of the Jim Louvau- and Tony Aguilera-directed video. "We filmed this in Baltimore, which was special to me, at like 3 a.m., while on the Cantrell tour. It was really the only time I had. We did multiple whole takes and this was the one. Jim and Tony, as usual, did an excellent job. At one point you can see me fuck up the words. I had to learn so many Cantrell songs that I forgot my own goddamned lyrics."
