Hear Halestorm's New "Reimagined" Version of "Break In" With Evanescence's Amy Lee

Recorded pre-pandemic, live in the same room

Back in May, Evanescence's Amy Lee guested on Halestorm singer Lzzy Hale's show Raise Your Horns With Lzzy Hale. The two performed a beautiful quarantine rendition of Halestorm's "Break In" from their respective locations, and revealed plans to release a studio version of the collaboration in August that had been recorded pre-lockdown. Today (July 31st), Halestorm premiered that studio rendition — check it  out above. "Break In" originally appeared on the band's 2012 album, The Strange Case of… While on tour with Evanescence on the Carnival of Madness Tour, Halestorm were joined by Lee on a nightly basis for a live performance of the song.

The new version of "Break In" will appear on Halestorm's upcoming Reimagined EP, which is set to arrive as a webstore exclusive and at all streaming services on August 14th. (You can pre-order it now.) In addition to "Break In," the EP will includes a new take on "I Get Off" and "I Am The Fire." The band also cut an official cover of Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You," a live staple.

"Over the last decade, we've been putting out cover EPs in between every original album cycle just for fun," Hale commented. "But this time around we decided to shake it up! For our Reimagined EP, we committed to only one cover but filled the rest with reimagined versions of Halestorm songs. It was such a blast to remake some of our favorite originals. One of the standout moments on this EP is a duet of our song 'Break In' featuring the amazingly incomparable Amy Lee. Produced by Nick Rasculinecz, we recorded this duet pre-COVID-19, together in the same room, live, as a full performance from beginning to end. Amy brought new meaning to this song, turning what was once just a love song into a statement of unity and support for each other. I hope you find something in Reimagined that brings you joy and hope in these crazy times we live in!"
