"Living life without compromise and being completely proud of who you are" is how vocalist Justine Jones describes the mission statement behind Glorious' debut EP, Unashamed. Truly embodying both that message and the names of the band and the release, the record's high-energy five tracks provide a throwback jolt of sneering British punk-rock fury — plus a revelatory cover of Type O Negative's "I Don't Wanna Be Me." The supergroup of sorts, which features members of Employed to Serve and Renounced, two of the U.K.'s finest young metallic hardcore bands, have teamed with Revolver today (June 26th) to premiere the full EP a week ahead of its official release date of July 3rd.

"Type O Negative are a very hard band to cover because they stand so far apart from everyone else — they had such an unmistakable sound that was so unique and impossible to imitate," guitarist Sammy Urwin tells us of the EP's final, and most surprising, track. "That being said, we wanted to pay homage to one of the greatest bands to ever exist. I always thought a more rough-around-the-edges version of 'I Don't Wanna Be Me' would be cool to hear, because when you strip it back to it's skeleton, it is a hardcore punk anthem. I feel like we have brought a nastier edge to this awesome song and hopefully have done it the justice it deserves."

Unashamed is available for pre-order via Bandcamp now.
