Long Island hardcore vets are back with a vengeance

Long Island hardcore stalwarts Incendiary have announced their long-awaited new album, Change the Way You Think About Pain, the follow-up to 2017's Thousand Mile Stare.

With the news comes lead single "Bite the Hook," a bulldozing metallic hardcore rager that sets the tone for the rest of the album with its "aggression and vibe," according to vocalist Brendan Garrone. Lyrically, the song is about "the struggles one faces when letting something fester and go unresolved," he explained, tying into the LP's greater theme of pain avoidance. Blast it above via its visualizer video.

Guitarist Brian Audley added of the album as a whole: "The goal ... was to refine our songwriting and deliver it more aggressively. The expectation for a hardcore band on their fourth LP may be to start sanding the edges off and becoming more polished and anthemic. We wanted to go the complete opposite direction and make them sharper. [Producer] Will Putney understood the assignment from the first day we stepped into his studio. He helped us execute on our goal by bringing out the most aggressive elements for the abrasive production the songs called for."

Change the Way You Think About Pain is due out May 26th via Closed Casket Activities and available for pre-order now.
