Formed in 2016 and inspired by NWOBHM icons such as Iron Maiden and power-metal fret-burners like Yngwie Malmsteen, Japanese quintet Lovebites have quickly risen to international prominence on the backs of three full-lengths and two EPs. Featuring bassist and bandleader Miho, lead singer Asami, guitarist Midori, guitarist-keyboardist Miyako and drummer Haruna, the white-clad shredders are set to release their third LP, Electric Pentagram, in the U.S. and Canadian this spring, and today (March 26th) they've teamed with Revolver to unleash album standout "Unbroken" upon North American ears.
"This is the first time that Lovebites have adopted the shuffle beat, and the song reminds you of good old heavy metal from the Eighties," Miho enthuses of "Unbroken." "The structure of the vocal melody for the chorus is emotional. We hope you sing along [to] this song with us."
"Lovebites is an electric pentagram," the band said of their new album in a joint statement earlier this year. "A pentagram is a five-pointed star consisting of five lines. It's been an emblem that's adorned amulets and talismans since ancient times as a symbol of protection. That's why we felt Electric Pentagram is the perfect title for this album. We are five points brought together to protect heavy metal."
Electric Pentagram is available for pre-order now. See the cover art and full track listing below.
