Jonathan Davis is a longtime fan of Eighties goth and new-wave music (see: Korn playing with The Cure's Robert Smith back in 2007), so it's not surprising that he has a soft spot for the Pet Shop Boys' 1987 hit, "It's a Sin." As part of the soundtrack for the Amazon Prime show Paradise City, the Korn frontman has unveiled a solo rendition of the iconic English synth-pop song.

Rather than delivering a stale rehash of the original, Davis' version slows down the tempo, darkens the instrumentation and dials back the theatrical bombast for a more pained and solemn vocal delivery. It doesn't sound anything like Korn, but it definitely has the emotional impact that's unique to Davis' singing style. Listen above via YouTube.

The Paradise City series was created by Sumerian Records founder Ash Avildsen, and it stars Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides and members of Asking Alexandria, as well as Bella Thorne and Booboo Stewart. Naturally, its soundtrack also boasts an array of high-profile bands including ††† (Crosses), Smashing Pumpkins, Sleeping With Sirens and more.
