Hear Judas Priest's Explosive New Protest Anthem "Never the Heroes"

Metal pioneers' third 'Firepower' single brims with explosive optimism

A week before dropping their new album Firepower, Judas Priest have unleashed "Never the Heroes," the third single off the highly-anticipated LP. A mid-tempo hard-rock scorcher with a squealing solo at its core, the song follows in the vein of the previously shared title track and "Lightning Strike" — which is to say old-school Priest heads are in for a treat.

Frontman Rob Halford delved into the heart of "Never the Heroes" during his in-depth interview with Revolver, which serves as the cover story for our February/March issue, out now. "It was about people that don't have any choice," he said of the song's subject. "They're put into a situation that's really out of their control and not being accepted and respected because they're not going with the general flow of whatever is in society." He went on to add: "It's like what's going off in Iran at the moment — to watch the protesters, they're all heroes. Anywhere where you're pushing back against a rigid dictatorship that encroaches on your human rights of freedom and liberty, it's all important."

Firepower hits shelves March 9th via Columbia, with Priest's North American tour kicking off a few days later. Find the band's full tour itinerary here.
