Hear King Woman's Crushing New Song "Boghz"

Kris Esfandiari explores "twisted version of love" in latest 'Celestial Blues' single

Revolver has teamed with King Woman for an exclusive "metallic silver" vinyl variant of their new album Celestial Blues. Order yours before they're gone!

King Woman are closing in on the July 30th release of their highly anticipated new sophomore record, Celestial Blues. Singer Kris Esfandiari and Co. have already shared two intense singles — the ethereal, doomy "Morning Star" and sludgy "Psychic Wound" — and today (July 14th) they've dropped one final preview with the release of the haunting crusher "Boghz."

"It's a tragic story about one ancient soul split in two separate bodies. Only knowing a sick and twisted version of love, one half nearly destroys the other," Esfandiari explains about the concept behind the track. "It's about being at the mercy of a sadistic person who you have an undeniable psychic bond with."

"Boghz" is a study in dynamics as Esfandiari and her band — drummer Joseph Raygoza and guitarist Peter Arensdorf — steadily ratchet up the intensity throughout the five-plus minute track. The song kicks off with alluring vocals and subdued guitar and drum work before the crew break into a doom-sludge assault that leads to a sublimely devastating climax.

Celestial Blues, which was tracked in Oakland, California with engineer Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Amenra, Oathbreaker), is due out July 30th via Relapse Records. Revolver has an exclusive limited-edition vinyl variant on "metallic silver" wax — order yours here before they're gone.

King Woman have booked a trio of mini-residencies in Los Angeles, Brooklyn and Oakland for later this summer and fall. Boy Harsher (DJ set) and Rituals of Mine are among the openers for the upcoming shows.
