Hear Lamb of God Salute Bad Brains With Raging "I Against I" Cover

Punk classic appears on new covers LP under band's original name Burn the Priest

One week from today (May 11th), Lamb of God will mark the 20th anniversary of the first and only album under their original name, Burn the Priest, with Legion: XX, a new covers record featuring their takes on tracks by the Cro-Mags, Agnostic Front, Ministry and others. After revealing their renditions of the Accüsed's "Inherit the Earth" and Big Black's "Kerosene," Randy Blythe and Co. have shared another searing reinterpretation, nearly two decades in the making: a cover of "I Against I" from iconic D.C. punk band Bad Brains.

Legion: XX hits shelves May 18th via Epic. In addition to their high-profile stint on Slayer's farewell tour, Lamb of God are planning a host of summer standalone shows with black-metal icons Behemoth. Check here for the full list of dates.

Revolver's been counting down to Legion: XX with a series of track-by-track videos in which Blythe breaks down each cover song on the record. In the clip below, Blythe chats about Bad Brains frontman H.R., whom he considers one of music's all-time greatest frontmen, his psuedo-religious experiences seeing the hardcore-punk greats live (and years later, filling in for H.R. himself), and how Lamb of God's "I Against I" cover embodies their respect for the D.C. icons.
