Hear Mötley Crüe's Insane Cover of Madonna's "Like a Virgin"

Reunited band's glam-metal take on 80s pop classic will appear on soundtrack to upcoming biopic 'The Dirt'

With the release date for biopic The Dirt just one week away, glam-metal survivors Mötley Crüe have released yet another newly recorded song from the soundtrack. This time they reached back into the mainstream pop of their heyday and pulled out a rendition of Madonna's iconic hit "Like a Virgin" and added their own sleazy, hard-rock vibes complete with a booming intro, slick guitar solo and snarling vocal delivery.

Bassist Nikki Sixx told Billboard Magazine the idea to cover the song came to him during his meditative evening routine of walking his dogs, and at first he thought it was "horrible." He explained, "When my mind's open like that, these ideas pop in, and [it] popped in my head, and I sort of like looked up, as if to laugh at God, and went, 'You're pretty funny.'" He goes on to note the irony of hearing famously promiscuous Vince Neil sing the track's innocent lyrics.
