Demon Hunter's forthcoming full-length, Exile, is not only the metalcore veterans' first-ever concept album, but it's also packed with diverse guests, specifically, contributions from Judas Priest shredder Richie Faulkner, Evergrey vocalist Tom S. Englund and Sepultura co-founder Max Cavalera. The last of these appears on the song "Defense Mechanism," the album's third single, which went wide today.
A metal rager — in contrast with the more mellow, Englund-assisted "Silence the World" — "Defense Mechanism" fits right into Cavalera's anti-authoritarian oeuvre, revolving around the defiant chorus: "Rival hearted/Spirit guarded/Social tension/The fury of dissension is my Defense mechanism."
