Hear Megadeth's Cover of Judas Priest's "Delivering the Goods"

Megadeth have honored Judas Priest's induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by covering their 1978 ripper, "Delivering the Goods." Dave Mustaine and Co. wrote on social media that they recorded their version of the Killing Machine standout to "celebrate" Priest's (long-overdue) acknowledgment by the purported arbiters of rock canon, and since the full ceremony airs this Saturday November 19th on HBO Max, they shared their cover today (November 17th) to get viewers hyped up.

As of right now, Megadeth's take on "Delivering the Goods" is only available for streaming on Amazon Music, which is the company that curated the cover alongside several other artists putting their spin on music by this year's Rock Hall inductees.

However, Megadeth did share a clip of the track on Twitter that you can crank below. Go hit up your friend with Amazon Prime to hear the rest.

Earlier this year, Mustaine opened up about the Priest cover during an interview with BBC Radio 2's 'The Rock Show With Johnnie Walker.'

"I had no idea how much Glenn Tipton and Judas Priest had influenced my guitar playing until I recently covered 'Delivering The Goods' with my band Megadeth and got to go over all those guitar riffs again," Mustaine said. "It was really revealing to me how much Glenn's playing had influenced me."

In a different interview from earlier this fall, he recalled a time during his youth when he was smacked across the face for listening to Judas Priest in the company of his sister's boyfriend.

"Judas priest was a band that I paid for dearly growing up," Mustaine said. "I had the Sad Wings of Destiny album. I was playing it at the house I was living in at the time, which was my sister's house. Her husband came home, who was a 6'6 Scottish guy. He was the chief of police in Stanton, California, and he heard me listening to Judas Priest and smacked me in the face.

"I was literally gobsmacked, but I was just blown away that he'd hit me in the face. So, I figured I was gonna really love this band now, just to spite you. And I was a big Judas Priest fan for a long time. And we ended up going out on tour with them on the Painkiller tour."
