Hear Metallic Hardcore Act Ringworm's Furious New Album 'Death Becomes My Voice' in Full

Cleveland mainstays preview bone-crunching record ahead of May 3rd release

Cleveland, Ohio is not only the home for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but also an indispensable piece of the punk puzzle, giving birth to the Dead Boys, Pere Ubu and others. In the years since Stiv Bators and crew left the city by the lake, Cleveland has played host to a grip of other killer punk and eventually hardcore bands, crucial names like the Pagans, Face Value, Gordon Solie Motherfuckers, Inmates, Nine Shocks Terror and others. Yet to many, the city is most strongly associated with the metalcore movement of the 90s and trailblazing names like Integrity and Ringworm.

Vocalist the Human Furnace and Co. have been at this for decades now, successfully combining the fury of hardcore with metallic riffs and attitude – producing classic tracks like "Blind to Faith," "Justice Replaced by Revenge" and a host of others. As the years have progressed, Ringworm have evolved beyond their initial "Slayer-as-a-punk band" approach, incorporating in grind blasts and black-metal phrasing all while becoming meaner and nastier.

The band's latest LP is Death Becomes My Voice, a ten-ton truck of an album that falls in line with the band's previous pedal-to-the-floor work. Due on May 3rd via Relapse (order yours), Death Becomes My Voice delivers exactly what Ringworm fans crave: vein-bulging, fist-clenching hardcore with a vengeance – no mercy, no prisoners, all hate, all the time.
