Hear Midwestern Hardcore Upstarts Bruise's Sludgy, Pummeling New Song "Resonate"

Indiana five-piece reveals pit-ready cut from upcoming debut album 'Grief Ritual'
Bruise

Hailing from central Indiana, Bruise are a five-piece wrecking crew who traffic sludgy, depressive jams that split the difference between fiery, pit-ready metalcore and depressive sludge metal. Since forming in 2016, they've been a near-constant presence in the Midwest hardcore scene, touring small towns and big cities alike on a seemingly nonstop basis. The hustle's paid off: following a string of EPs, the Bruise brigade are linking up with storied underground bastion Unbeaten Records (Stigmata, Left Behind, Queensway) for their debut album, Grief Ritual, due out August 31st.

In anticipation of the upcoming record, Bruise have unveiled a quirky, crushing new song called "Resonate." Not only does this song bring the riffs, it's the first-ever ripper to feature a sample Tom Tom Club's Eighties smash "Genius of Love" — at least as far as we know. And you thought you'd heard it all!

Grief Ritual will be released August 31 via Unbeaten Records; it can be pre-ordered here. Stream "Resonate" below now.
