It's no secret that Linkin Park are a bunch of jokers: none more so than their late frontman Chester Bennington, whose antics were recently cataloged in a touching video his bandmates shared on the 1st anniversary of his passing. But did you know that Linkin Park also once pulled a prank on the one and only Metallica — while the Big Four thrashers were tearing through "Master of Puppets"! — amid their stint on the Summer Sanitarium Tour in 2003? Or that the band's silly scheme involved picnic baskets and a skateboarding Chester Bennington? Well, Mike Shinoda does.
Shinoda detailed this hilarious interaction in a recent interview with Sirius XM's Turbo, Loudwire points out. "They were in the middle of — I think it might've actually been 'Master of Puppets'," he recounted, "and we came out with picnic baskets and sandwiches, and [went onstage] while they were playing [the] song and just had a picnic. Chester was skateboarding back and forth. We were bringing out orange juice and having this little thing, which they thought was hysterical."
Hear him break it down below.
