Last week, Behemoth unveiled a stunning, disturbing image depicting the band's frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski nailed to a cross — a black-metal spin on the the Passion of the Christ — captioned with "GOD=DOG," and on Twitter, the word "soon." True to their word, the Polish metal act has re-launched its website to include a mysterious, roman-numeral counter set to expire on August 2nd. More enticingly, they've shared about a minute's worth of new music, albeit with a caveat attached; in order to hear the ominous snippet, listeners must first recite a prayer using their phone or computer mic: an aural almsgiving, if you will.

Behemoth have been hard at work on their follow-up to 2014's The Satanist since the top of 2018. Prior to the latest teaser, the band shared footage of themselves recording with an adorable kids choir (presumably, the same ensemble heard in the new clip). Earlier this July, Negal and Co. played the new material for fans at a listening party held in, where else, a Swedish church.
