Hear NYHC Stalwarts Burn's First New Album in 16 Years

Band's long-awaited 'Do or Die' LP was engineered by Converge's Kurt Ballou

New York hardcore veterans Burn have teamed up with Revolver to stream Do or Die, their first new full-length in 16 years. Arriving September 8th, the 10-track album was engineered by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou (Kvelertak, Nails, Code Orange) and mastered by Howie Weinberg (Slayer, Public Enemy, Sonic Youth). Listen to Do or Die now in its entirety, and check out the itinerary for the band's upcoming shows behind the record with Comeback Kid and Jesus Piece. You can pre-order the album here via Deathwish.

"We pour maximum effort into everything that we do and we knew how important that would be on this recording," says guitarist Gavin Van Vlack. "We had a very finite window of time to get the best representation of these songs possible. Working in that kind of pressure cooker sometimes creates magic. We totally feel we hit that point on this album."

Do or Die — Burn's second release since they reconvened in 2015 — follows last year's aptly-titled EP From the Ashes. While the group never officially disbanded, Burn have had a long history of stops and starts over their 28-year career, which has allowed its members to cultivate numerous side projects, most notably Orange 9mm and Quicksand, co-founded by vocalist Chaka Malik and drummer Alan Cage, respectively. Malik and Van Vlack are the sole remaining original members in Burn's current lineup; drummer Abbas Muhammad and bassist Tyler Krupsky enlisted last year.
