Hear Oakland Punks Charger Channel Motörhead on Ripping New Song "Victim"

Rancid bassist Matt Freeman leads the low-end charge on scorching cut from forthcoming EP

On the short list of current greatest bass players in rock is Matt Freeman, the low-end murderer for Rancid responsible for taking the band from great to wholly one-of-a-kind with his creative approach to the instrument. Freeman's latest endeavor is Charger where he pays tribute to one of the most legendary four-stringers of all time, Motörhead's Lemmy Kilmister.

In their latest single "Victim," from the band's forthcoming seven-song 12-inch EP on Pirates Press, Freeman also lends his vocals to the proceedings, making for a beer-swilling, fist-raising good time, and a track that Kilmister or Midnight or even Venom might be proud to call their own. Check it out for the first time above and order your copy via Pirates Press Records ahead of its May 10th release. Broken glass, spilled beer and wild times not included, but they might as well be.
