Hear Orbit Culture's Monstrously Heavy New Song "Vultures of North"

Swedish metallers return with first single from upcoming full-length

Over the last few years, Sweden's Orbit Culture have steadily risen to becoming one of the most hyped new metal bands coming out of Europe. Last year, our readers named them one of the top five breakout bands of 2021, and today (August 25th), the crushing quartet are gifting their fans with a monstrously heavy new song called "Vultures of North," which we're proud to be premiering.

The track is the first single from the band's upcoming third album, which is due for release in early 2023. Like the songs on last year's Shaman EP, "Vultures of North" is a slice gigantic-sounding death metal that falls somewhere between early Gojira, Lamb of God and Meshuggah. The riffs are humongous, the breakdowns and grooves hit like 10 tons of bricks being shot out of a cannon and colliding with another 10 tons of bricks, and the vocals are positively snarling.

Surely, the band will be bringing this one out during their first-ever U.S. tour with In Flames and Fit For An Autopsy, going down early next month. Start learning the words above via YouTube.

"When it comes to the message and tone of the song 'Vultures Of North,' we've felt that we've been waiting for too long now to get out there and play due to the pandemic," says vocalist Niklas Karlsson. "During COVID, of course, our fanbase has grown very strong and under the same banner, the antlers emblem, we'll head out there together stronger than ever before.

"With this huge U.S. tour coming up, we felt that we're going to head out there with a new fast and heavy song. With all the European dates this summer that have gone so well, it's time to put in a higher gear with this new song into the frontline. The riffs and the instrumental side of this track was born out of just us wanting a song that just hammers through concrete, a simple 4/4 on the drums and just an angry 'Sawish' riff on top."
