In 1991, Ozzy Osbourne released his smash hit solo album, No More Tears, which featured a song called "Hellraiser" that was co-written alongside then-guitarist Zakk Wylde and Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister. Notably, the "Ace of Spades" rockers released their own version of the track on their 1992 LP, March ör Die, so for decades there were two prominent versions of this metal banger in existence.
Now, there's three. In anticipation of Ozzy's No More Tears 30th anniversary reissue that's out later this week, the Great Ozz has unveiled a previously-unreleased version of "Hellraiser" that features both he and Lemmy dueting on the same song.
Both singers trade verses and then come together for a howling harmony during the chorus that finds gritty symmetry between their respective singing deliveries. Although the track was always somewhat overshadowed by other Kilmister-Osbourne co-writes on No More Tears, such as "Mama, I'm Coming Home" and "I Don't Want to Change the World," the fun chemistry on this one feels special.
"This is just a small way to honor my friend Lemmy," Ozzy said in a statement. "Sharon and I talk a lot about how much we miss him."
