The unholy duo of Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi haven't made a new song together since Black Sabbath's final album, 2013's 13. But the Prince of Darkness' star-studded new solo record, Patient Number 9 — which features guest shots from Jeff Beck, Duff McKagan, Eric Clapton, Zakk Wylde, Robert Trujillo, Josh Homme and the late Taylor Hawkins — has brought the two back together.

Iommi, metal's original riff master, contributes characteristically crushing licks on the LP's 10th track and second single, "Degradation Rules," which dropped today (July 22nd). It's a good deal heavier than the album's lead offering, June's "Patient Number 9," featuring Jeff Beck. As an extra Sabbath callback, the song also includes some wailing harmonica, evoking 1970's "The Wizard."

Iommi also plays on another Patient Number 9 song, track No. 4,"No Escape From Now." "It was really great working with Tony," Ozzy commented of the guitarist's contributions when the album was first announced. "He's the riff master. No one can touch him in that respect. I only wish we had these songs for Black Sabbath's 13 album."
