Hear A Perfect Circle's Intense New Song "The Doomed"

Maynard James Keenan: "We artist types need to open our big mouths and share the light a little louder"

Following a teaser dropped on Instagram earlier this week, A Perfect Circle have released a new song, "The Doomed," which can be played above and purchased or streamed here. The track arrives in advance of Maynard James Keenan and Co.'s upcoming North American tour — their first trek in six years — which begins October 21st at Sacramento's Aftershock festival.

"Fourteen years have passed since we released eMOTIVe," Keenan commented, referencing A Perfect Circle's last album. "A new release is long overdue. In light of this current difficult and polarized social, spiritual and political climate, we artist types need to open our big mouths and share the light a little louder."

"Years of life experience has brought our music to this moment," added guitarist Billy Howerdel. "We know where we came from. Deeply connected to the path we're on."

"The Doomed" represents the first studio-recorded music that the band has released since the single "By and Down," which came out in 2013 and appeared on the following year's retrospective compilation Three Sixty. The song is also the first music to be heard from A Perfect Circle's new full-length, which the band is currently working on in the studio with producer Dave Sardy, with release planned for 2018.
