Hear A Perfect Circle's Poignant New Song "Disillusioned"

Ethereal cut precedes band's first album in over 10 years

A Perfect Circle have ushered in the new year with a new song, "Disillusioned," the second cut released from the band's highly anticipated forthcoming album, and the follow-up to the lead single from the LP, "The Doomed."

"'The Doomed' was a rude wake-up call ... apologies if you were sleeping peacefully," guitarist Billy Howerdel commented. "'Disillusioned' comes from a place of overcoming the slide into the numb. It speaks to reconnection and a fresh start to a new year."

Maynard James Keenan added of "Disillusioned": "Attempting new approaches to composing can be intimidating. Especially with an established project with such a recognizable sound. But sometimes you just gotta take the first swing. Only way to grow."

A Perfect Circle will released a limited-edition dual groove "The Doomed"/"Disillusioned" 10" vinyl on March 9th. You can pre-order it here. The band is scheduled to hit the road in Europe and the U.K. this summer, as well as to play U.S. festivals including Rock on the Range.

Below, watch Maynard James Keenan demonstrate some of the fighting techniques that earned him his purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and elaborate on how his lifelong affinity for combat sports is connected with his larger vision of sustainable living, self-sufficiency and creativity.
