Maynard James Keenan and Co. deliver bark and bite with hard-rocking Record Store Day offering

Maynard James Keenan is a man who likes a good cover — whether it's taking on Zeppelin's "No Quarter" with Tool, tackling "Bohemian Rhapsody" with Puscifer, or recording a whole damn album of covers with A Perfect Circle. This Friday, November 23rd, marks another Record Store Day Black Friday event, which APC will be celebrating with a "So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish" limited-edition 7-inch featuring the band's rendition of AC/DC's "Dog Eat Dog."

The group has previously played the song live (see fan-shot footage below from this year's Pinkpop festival), but the Record Store Day vinyl represents the first appearance of a studio version of the cover. Ahead of the release, BBC Radio 1's Rock Show With Daniel P Carter premiered the cut last night (November 18th) — you can stream it here 16:57 in. The "So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish" 7-inch will be available exclusively at local independent record stores in the U.K. and U.S. on Friday.
