Hear Periphery Unleash Djent Fury on Blistering New Song "Blood Eagle"

Prog-metal stalwarts offer first taste of upcoming album 'Periphery IV: Hail Stan'

D.C. progressive metal crew Periphery are back with the lead single, "Blood Eagle," off their upcoming album Periphery IV: Hail Stan, the band's first on their own label 3DOT Recordings. The track continues in the group's tradition of melding the technical aggression of Meshuggah-worshipping djent with soaring prog-rock theatrics, all melded together highlight the band's ability of manage shifting moods and complex composition. A slickly produced performance video accompanies the song, showcasing the band members in expressive, minimal lighting in a stark warehouse setting.

Periphery, who produce all of their own material, took extra time to craft this record. Guitarist and programmer Jake Bowen enthuses, "We finally spent a year on a record. We've never been able to do that. The quality and pacing of the work show we took our time with this one ... We really got to do everything we wanted to do in the space we had to do it." Guitarist Mark Holcomb backs this sentiment, adding, "I think you can hear the adventurous intent behind much of this material as a result. We're all the happiest we've ever been with a release, and it's no coincidence."

Periphery IV: Hail Stan is set to drop April 5th, with pre-orders available in physical and digital formats. The band will hit the road with Dance Gavin Dance in late March for a three week American tour. See below for albums tracks and show dates, as well as the official album art.
