Philip Anselmo may be out on the road with his solo band the Illegals, opening for Slayer on the thrash titans' Final Campaign, but that hasn't kept him from doing more of the devil's work with his black-metal supergroup Scour. Featuring members of Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Misery Index and the aforementioned Illegals, the veteran collective has recorded a ferocious cover of Bathory's searing 1987 classic "Massacre" (a live staple for Scour), and they're gearing up to drop it — very fittingly, we might say — on Black Friday.

Ahead of that release date, Scour have teamed with Revolver to premiere the cover right here right now, and in keeping with the DIY ethics of true, kvlt black metal, they've released it via a music video composed entirely of clips captured by fans at various performances over the past few years. Take in the harsh joy of "Massacre" and its raw found-footage clip below.

The standalone single will be available as a free download this Friday, November 29th, and commemorated with a limited edition "Massacre" tribute shirt up for purchase via Indiemerchstore for $16.66 with the special code "BARGAINBIN." Scour have more tricks up their sleeve, too: The band are set to release a new EP, Black — the final piece in the three-part series featuring the previously released Grey and Red EPs — due out via Anselmo's Housecore Records in 2020. While no release date has been set yet for Black, details are on their way and will be announced in the coming weeks.
