Former Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo recently announced a new album with his band the Illegals, Choosing Mental Illness as a Virtue. After unveiling the album's brutal first single "Choosing Mental Illness," today he's dropped off "The Ignorant Point," another gnarled track off the upcoming LP, due out January 26th via the vocalist's Housecore Records label. Listen below.

Clocking in at three-and-a-half punishing minutes, the band's latest shot of extreme-metal adrenaline takes aim at the world of Fake News. "'The Ignorant Point' is a tip of the hat to today's top-notch, morally-sincere, trustworthy news agencies, websites, bloggers, etc. that have kept the public in such great spirits with their dedication to truth and honest ... Burp," says Anselmo. "Keep up the good work, bullshit artists. We've got our collective eyes on you."

Anselmo's latest Illegals track — also featuring guitarists Mike DeLeon and Stephen "Schteve" Taylor, drummer José Manuel "Blue" Gonzalez and bassist Walter Howard — follows Scour, the self-titled debut EP from the rocker's black metal "supergroup" with members of Pig Destroyer, Cattle Decapitation, Misery Index and others. In addition to Choosing Mental Illness as a Virtue, Anselmo is planning to release the debut LP by En Minor, his gothy, Eighties-inspired side project, sometime next year.
