Late last month, Poppy teased a ferocious new track that online listeners quickly recognized as an industrialized cover of Kittie's turn-of-the-millennium classic "Spit." Today (May 8th), the post-genre provocateur dropped the full cut and it delivers on the promise of the earlier clip and then some.
Featuring clattering drum 'n' bass, spikes of Nine Inch Nails Broken-worthy guitar and Poppy's totally scabrous distorted vocals, the cover may be even heavier than the original, upgrading the nu-metal rager for 2023.
The single arrived along with a fittingly glitched-out music video directed by Jim Louvau and Tony Aguilera. Watch and listen above.
