Hear Quicksand's Aggressive New Song "Felíz"

NYC post-hardcore veterans lean into heavier side

Fresh off their big North American tour with Clutch and Helmet, Quicksand have released a full-throttle new song, "Felíz," which was recorded during the sessions for their acclaimed 2021 album, Distant Populations. Old-school fans should dig this one: It's a visceral, aggressive throwback to the sound of the NYC post-hardcore stalwarts' classic records, like 1993's Slip. Check it out above via its visualizer video.

"This one came together pretty easily, from what I recall coming off of tour we wanted to write something more aggressive for the set," Quicksand frontman Walter Schreifels commented. "Listening now reminds me of something we might have written earlier in our career but still feels right at home with where we're at currently. The lyrics speak to the fleeting nature of happiness, which paradoxically is what makes feeling happy such a desirable thing."
