Hear Rap Duo $uicideboy$ Conjure Menacing Darkness on New Song "Carrollton"

Three Six Mafia–approved pair's latest track fueled by distorted beats, industrial-metal intensity

In 2014, two cousins from New Orleans made a pact: become famous rappers by age 30, or die trying. Dubbing themselves the $uicideboy$, the duo — known as $lick and Ruby Da Cherry — began uploading moody, volatile rap songs to Soundcloud, anthems that, with their distorted vocals and speaker-melting mixes, skew more industrial than trap. Four years and dozens of tracks later, the band have amassed millions of views on YouTube, completed two world tours and earned the respect of Beastie Boys' Mike D, Three Six Mafia's Juicy J and others — all without a label to their name. In other words, they're not ready to die yet.

On the heels of their recent signing with Universal, $uicideboy$ have announced their major-label debut: I Want to Die in New Orleans hits shelves September 7th via G59 Records/Caroline. They've also shared its eerie first single, "Carrollton," a dirty-south banger with hyper-distorted, deadpanned vocals reminiscent of Marilyn Manson.

"After traveling the globe on two back-to-back sold out world tours, amassing a fortune, spending an insane amount of money on drugs, losing friends, making 'enemies,' and witnessing this scene that we helped create turn into what it is now, we have decided that none of this fame or money will ever make us happy," the band say of the new album. "For a second there we thought it would. Therefore, we are changing the album title from I Don't Want to Die in New Orleans to...I Want to Die in New Orleans.

$uicideboy$ are set to hit the road in August for a string of European dates, followed by a North American tour. Find a full list of dates below, underneath the album artwork and track listing.
